40% of the game is putting

November 2021

The average tour player shoots 70 and has an average of 28 putts this is 40%, the average golfer shots 90 and has an average of 36 putts (40%) also is more likely to 3 putt from 30 feet than they are to 1 putt. Speed and Line are the two most important factors when putting, too much speed and the putt does not break, not enough speed and the putt breaks too much. Practice getting your speed right and when you practice set up a learning zone and measure your practice. If you want help with how to set up a your practice to learn how to control distance, read greens and start your ball on line then give me a call to book a session.
